Energy Savings - The T5/T8 was created to replace the 400 watt metal halide fixture on a 1 for 1 basis. T5s provide energy savings of up to 50% while maintaining comparable light levels.
Superior Lumen Maintenance - Maintains 90 - 95% of initial light output and extended life. Lasts up to 36,000 hours depending on starts.
Improved Color Rendering - Fluorescent maintains consistent color through life and has a color rendering index (CRI) of 85…compared to 60 for a metal halide. With fluorescent, there appears to be more light…improves visual acuity!
Instant On/Off - Fluorescent lamps require no wait time before re-striking. In the event of power interruption, fluorescent lamps are back on instantly. Integral stand-by emergency battery packs are also an option.
Motion Sensors - Integrated Motion sensors allow for an additional savings of up to 50%. Instant on/off make fluorescents control friendly.

Electronic Ballasts: Replacing magnetic T12 ballasts for electronic T8 ballasts provide improvements in a number of areas:

Energy Savings - Ballast changes in combination with lamp removal can save up to 60% while maintaining comparable light levels.
Rapid Start Technology - Makes fixtures more control friendly. Allows for addition of sensor control without losing lamp life.
Environmentally Friendly - Electronic ballast have no fluorocarbons and provide a much greener effect on the environment.

T8 Lamps: These lamps are smaller in diameter, but not in light output.

Lamp Options - T8 lamps range from 25 watt to the most common 32 watt. One is right for every application.
Environmentally Friendly -Lamps contain less mercury, last longer and use less energy than the predecessor, the T12.
Lamp Reduction Option - Each lamp can produce up to 3150 lumens compared to the T12 cool white counterpart, which has 1580 design lumen. This allows (2) T8 lamps to replace (4) T12 lamps, effectively reducing the energy output of a fixture by over 60%.
